  • It is not the portrait of an era, for the idealisation of Serralves belongs neither o the time nor to the geography of its setting – Portugal and the second quarter of the h century – but rather to a unique moment of a particular coming together of knowledge will and capacity to realize.

  • As a nonconforming member of the Porto bourgeoisie and an enthusiast of French culture, Carlos Alberto Cabral brought together a number of agents in unplanned phases, Serralves standing as the image and representation of an era and its aspirations.
