The Colors of Chicago

There’s a lot of looking up in this set, but when in the U.S. of A. you shouldn’t expect otherwise.

I have been numerous times to the Big Apple and would have expected the same feel when discovering the Windy City. To my surprise, its beige / brownish color-palette was quite distinctive and suited perfectly the season (Autumn and Winter).

In general I found the ‘Loop’ part of Chicago quite empty. The -15°C didn’t help to the get the streets crowded either. Not a complaint at all, since I tend to keep most of my frames free from passersby.

Some pictures of the set were shot with the Helios 44-2 58mm f2, which gives that distinctive soft look of this old-timer lens. It was truly a pleasure and experience to get a different approach through an all Manual kind of photography.
